COMMUNITY INFORMED HEALTH INNOVATIONS
Innovations for Change works with communities, healthcare providers and institutions to improve access to health information and services through digital systems, participatory engagement and applied research.
What changes when communities are engaged not simply as recipients of health information, but as contributors to the messages and services intended for them?
These films document how IFC works with young people, people living with HIV, healthcare providers and institutions to develop locally relevant communication on HIV, sexual and reproductive health and rights, gender-based violence and access to health services.
Digital Health Systems
We develop and apply accessible digital technologies that improve access to health information, support engagement with services and create channels for communication between communities and healthcare providers. This work includes the 3072 two-way SMS platform and the Adotolo telemedicine platform under development and pilot implementation.
Our work is organised across three interconnected programme areas.
OUR PROGRAMME AREAS
Youth and Community Health Systems
We work with young people, people living with HIV, students and other community groups to strengthen access to health information, participation in programme design and engagement with healthcare providers. Our approaches include community dialogue, participatory Music Workshops, creative communication and digital follow-up.
Health-System Strengthening and Research
We generate and apply evidence to understand barriers to health information and services, improve programme delivery and support more responsive health systems. Our work combines community feedback, service monitoring, applied research and collaboration with healthcare and academic institutions.
